Well, I may need to think about renaming this blog because it doesn't look like I'm gonna be doing daily entries. Perhaps, I should call it the "Monthly Apple," which of course means that it's not quite as healthy as it should be:) An apple a day keeps the doctor away; but, an apple a month?

Anywho, here's what's been going on lately: Mimosa continues to work diligently on the cover art for The Kiribati Test. We've had to tinker around with DPI and file size in order to make the cover look sharp and crisp and professional.

I am registered for the AZ Murder Goes.....Thriller Conference, which is a big conference for thriller writers that Poisoned Pen is putting on. David Morrell is going to be there; and Lee Child and Clive Cussler. It looks to have a high schmooze potential!

It's being held at the Arizona Biltmore on June 25/26th. I will be there!

I will be leaving for Hawaii on June 13 (just a few days from now) and won't be back until the 18th. I will be staying on the island of Kauai, which is one of the lesser known islands. It is home to the wettest spot on Earth, which incidentally shows up in my most recent and Eighth novel, which is well underway. I still don't have a title for this new novel, but I'm thinking of breaking it down into three parts of roughly 50,000 words apiece. I would like to submit a manuscript to the Delacorte Press young Adult Novel Contest, and the word count works out to about 40,000 for the contest. However, I don't want to get stuck with a 40K word novel because that is a very difficult length to market. Hence, my reasoning for breaking the novel into three shorter novels which could stand wholly on their own or together as a major work. this new novel is the most purely Comic Book style of fiction I've written to date. I've called this new style of fiction "Bubble Gum Prose" -- the lead villain's name is Dr. Plant, and he's an evil mastermind in the tradition of the Spider Man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four comics of my youth! But it's a novel, right? I mean the story is told in standard prose format. Bubble Gum Prose....

I've approved the ISBN number for The Band, so copies should be available in the coming weeks at on-line booksellers like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.

Also, I've begun mapping out and scouting area bookstores in Phoenix, to which I will eventually carry copies of my books to set up reading, signings, and to sell. Changing Hands and Borders are very local-author friendly, so I may start there.

I've begun envisioning Stacey Cochran Productions as a young Walt Disney Productions might have looked in the late 1920s. I have a kind of mission statement up at www.staceycochran.com under the BIO section.

Well, that's enough for now! Take care and thanks for reading!!
